Yoga


Yoga is a life of self discipline based on the tenets of simple living and high thinking. The body is a temple or vehicle for the soul and has specific requirements which must be fullilled for it to function smoothly and supply the optimum mileage. The five points of yoga are proper exercise, proper breathing proper relaxation proper diet and positive thinking and meditation. Yoga means the link or union, the link between the soul and supreme consciousness through which the soul becomes the controller of its own mind, intellect and consequently of its Physical body. The four main branches of yoga are Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga. Karma Yoga involves the dedication of all work as an offering to God, with no thought of personal recuard. Bhakti Yoga is the devotional approach of yoga, the approach of pure love. Raja yoga is the scientific step by step approach to yoga systematically the mind is analysed. Techniques are applied to bring it under control and to achieve higher state of consciovsness. Tnana Yoga is the most direct of the four paths of yoga. It s the intellectual approach to Spiritual evolution.

The yogi sees life as a triangle . The Physical body undergoes birth, growth, change, decaes
And death. The growth period reaches a plateacs at about the age of eighteen –twenty years. In the youthful period the rate of cell rejuvenation exceeds the rate of cell decay In am average person the body maintains an equilibrium of these procurersfrom the age of twenty until the age of thirty five. Then the decaying or catabolic procers, begins to take precedence and the body starts it’s decline. This procers later results in old age with it’s accompanying ills and despair. The ancient sages developedan integral system to word off or retard the decaying or catabolic process and to keep the physical and mental faculties strong. This is the system of yoga. The system of yoga is simple, natural programme involving the five main principles.

1) Proper Exercise – Asanas
2) proper breathing – Prangyama
3) Proper Relaxation – Savasana
4) proper Diet – Vegetarian
5) Positive thinking and meditation

 

Proper exercise arts as a lubricating routine to the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other parts of the body by inereasing circulation and flexibaility. Proper breathing aids the body in connecting to its battery the solar plexus, where tremendous potential energy is stored. When tapped through specific yoga breathing techniques (pranayama) the energy is released for physical and mental rejuvenation. Proper relaxation cools down the system. When the body and mind air continerally overworked their efficiency diminishes. Relaxation is the natures way of recharging the body. Proper diet provides the correct fuel for the body. Optemuan citilisation of food, air water and sunlight is essential. Positive thinking and meditation puts you in control. The intellect is purified. The lower nature is brought under conscious control through steadiness and concentration of mind.
